For fellow perfectionists

Hi i'm Nathan a 2nd Year and i'm here to announce some mel scripts i made for those fed up with trying to get a perfect scale to zero on any object including vertices, edges, polygons, control points, so on so forth.

The first 3 scale the selected item in one axis each and Crush scales all points to center.

Here they are give them a try and please give feedback even if it is to say how simple they are to code, i know this but i relised that no-one has bothered making any scripts to do this.

Edit:

Damn they are not working right, they seem to be snapping exactly to the grid instead of locally like they are meant to. I need to figure that out then fix these, oh well this is my first time trying to create script.

  1. What exactly is the usefulness of these commands?

What is the difference between using these commands as opposed to selecting your object and scaling to 0 in the channel box?

  2. what i mean theese for is to scale multiple things like vertices together instead of an inaccurate scale tool

  3. I'm confused by how you describe the use of these tools. Perhaps I will download them to see.

  4. Pah, you might want to check your upload. 0KB doesn't seem right to me.

  5. they are tiny, but i realised by looking through a few mel thereads that there is a function to do this already in maya, its called the discrete scale to use it you hold J while you use the scale tool to snap tool to intergers of 1.

  6. cool nice find, the J thing works for the move, scale and rotate tool - you can change how much it snaps/rotates in the tool's settings and then use J to toggle dicrete move/scale/rotate, rather than having to turn it on and off from a menu.
