Hay guys. Im trying to take photo's of my life drawing but keep getting shadows all over it and look horid. tryed having lights on and off yet still getting these shadows.
Anyone got any tips on how they have taken there photos and how to avoid making it look horid?

  1. Hey Mike, I know those shadows can be a big pain! I ended up laying my drawings flat on the floor weighing them down in the corners and standing on my bed then zooming in with the camera. If you end up with shadows on parts that are not of your drawing you could take the photos into photoshop and clone the background where there isn't a shadow. I did this for the corners where I had objects weighing the paper down. If you haven't got a lot of floor space have you tried tacking them to the wall standing well back and zooming in? Hope that helps!

  3. Hey guys, if you're casting shadows your work then try putting the work between you and the light; this way your shadows should be behind you. Either that or use your camera's flash, then in photoshop hold Ctrl+L (levels) and adjust the sliders to get the right contrast. It can be time consuming but you'll get nice results :)
