Documentary: Horror Europa with Mark Gatiss

Mark Gatiss' great documentary on European horror cinema is available now on BBC iplayer.  It's got some great set design imagery from The Cabinet of Dr Caligari - and makes lots of fascinating reference to the 'visual concepts' underpinning production design and character.  Go here to watch it while it's still available.

  4. Argento was on fire from Deep Red to Opera. Six classics in a row.

I think a CGAA Cinema post is needed for those films...

  5. Great documentary, well worth a watch. I was able to attend the film 4 fright fest last weekend, in which they screened Zombie Flesh Eaters - past the dodgy dub and the doctors magical length changing facial hair, a pretty good film. We was also lucky enough to see the premiere of 'The Tall Man' by director Pascal Laugier, whose first 'real' horror film was 'Martyrs'. If anyone gets a chance check out The Tall Man, its a great film with a very suprising script.

  6. Zombie Flesh Eaters... The one with naked scuba diving and a zombie fighting a shark underwater. I love it so much! Also, brilliant theme tune by Fabio Frizzi! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aDf4mmC3hQ
